In the statement, the ministry did not address any of the allegations relating to the agency\u2019s actions within Eritrea but instead focused on what it perceives as the EU\u2019s support for the Tigray People\u2019s Liberation Front (TPLF) \u2013 the governing party of Ethiopia\u2019s Tigray region which is currently engaged in a bloody conflict with the Ethiopian government.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Read more on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aljazeera.com\/opinions\/2021\/3\/28\/can-eritreas-afwerki-hold-on-to-power-after-the-tigray-war\">aljazeera.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Eritrean president finds himself in an increasingly difficult situation.
